29th Festa Pomerana

The most important celebration in the event calendar of the district is the "Festa Pomerana" in January. In January, the birth month of the city, approx. 30.000 visitors, distributed over 10 days come into the city. Organized for the first time was the Festa Pomerana in 1984. The visitor has the choice between numerous attractions as for example the traditional street removals, folklore, folk, dancing balls, German food and of course draught beer.

Culinary contests
From Monday by Friday around 20h30, the visitor can test home made deliciousness like cakes, jams and liqueurs. After this is the best product will be selected. 

Typical contests

Fischerstechen - originally from Ulm, Nürnberg, Bamberg and Worms brought to here. (In middle of the river 2 Competitors in a canoe fight around victory)
Schneidmüller und Holzhacke - These competition has along tradition. It was originally used as a method to accelerate the work.  Saw and chopping contest. 
Vogelstechen - A bird made of wood attached at a rope is used to hit the destination. 

Typical peagants 
From Monday to Friday around 19h, Saturday at 18h and Sundays at 10h occurs street pageants in traditional dress clothing. It will be showed the german tradition as well as performances from the shot associations of the district.

Gastronomy 
Duck with red cabbage, goat sausage and knuckles are some of the specialities which you may test at the "Festa Pomerana". Of course with a fresh, cool draught beer. 

Arts and crafts exhibition
Here you will know the famous craft art which is well known because of its high quality standard. Small and middle crafts enterprises as well as big companies introduce themselves here. The product range comprises home mades, useful for home, piece of furniture and others which one the visitor can buy directly at the celebration.
